De Goede Verwachting

'De Goede Wachting' from Amsterdam is a barge that is 19,75 meters long and was built in 1916 at the Barkmeijer shipyard in Briltil (Groningen).
Under the former names 'Nieuwe Zorg' and 'Friso', the ship sailed under sail or with the pusher, mainly with peat from Drenthe to Minnertsga (Friesland) to supply its own fuel trade, but also with sand and gravel. Later they sailed around Friesland. The tjalk was moored as a houseboat in Leeuwarden at the end of the 1970s. It was then put back into service in 1977 by the current skipper and is now registered in the Dutch Sailing Heritage Register as a Sailing Monument under no. 174 and is a member of the associations LVBHB, SSRP and VSRP.

The ship regularly participates in nautical events.
