The Minerva confirmed her presence at the 20th edition of Ostend at Anchor.

The three-masted sailing ship ‘Minerva’ was by the Lühring shipyard at Brake on the River Weser in Germany. Launched in 1935 as the ‘Uwe Ursula’ and fitted with a small auxiliary engine, she and her four ‘sister’ ships, were among the last sailing cargo ships to be built. Hamburg became her home port from where, for several decades she busily traded around the coasts and major rivers of Northern Europe.
In 1951 a more powerful MAK diesel engine was installed: 180 hp with air start and the capacity to immediately reverse. This engine has been fully maintained and functions perfectly to this day. In 1987 the ship was converted to a passenger sailing vessel and re-named ‘Minerva’. Today she offers day sailing trips for a maximum of 120 passengers and can host harbour receptions for up to175 guests.
