Jantje confirmed his participation at Ostend at Anchor 2018

The Jantje (‘Jimmy’) was launched in 1930 at the Van Goor shipyard in Monnickendam. Until 1969 she operated in the North Sea as a cod fishing vessel, and was then asquired by a new owner who converted to a topsail schooner, also sometimes referred to a brigantine, typified by a square-rigged foremast with an aft gaff rig. Interestingly, this type of ship was the choice of many a pirate because of speed and good handling characteristics. Jantje may still reflect the authentic atmosphere of yesteryear, but at the same time she is equipped with every modern luxury and comfort.
