Leila, oldest participant at Ostend at Anchor

Leila, oldest participant at Ostend at Anchor
With her 126 years she is the oldest participant to the festival Ostend at Anchor. The various owners looked for her and keep the original lines of the ship built in 1892 on the shipyard of F. Wilkinson of Charlton. It was ordered by Leanard Withers. She endured two World Wars and finally is since 2008 owned by the Leila Sailing Trust;. In October 2014, the trust was granted 278000 pounds for a four year project by the big lottery. The project is get at sea 400 people from Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. To project is open for youngers from 12 to 18 years from schools, colleges, scouts and seacadets. Also unemployed and homeless or disadvantaged people are more then welcome. Very noble and happy to sail for the first time to the Ostend at Anchor festival.
