Iris



Built in 1916 at Vlaardingen for herring fishing, and originally named Pallas. Based at Ijmuiden, until 1926 she worked as a herring fisher in the North Sea, including the Shetlands, before being sold to Scandinavia where for over 40 yeras she worked carrying general cargoes under sail. In 1975 and with a new owner, she returned to the Netherlands, to be completely rebuilt. In 1981 she became one of the first seagoing sailing charter vessels.
