In September 2000, a former leave-behind sloop of the Belgian frigates was officially handed over to the Royal Marine Cadet Corps. The Westhinder was given Ostend as its home port. To this day, this sloop is used intensively for all kinds of cadet activities. The Westhinder also has a double unsinkable hull.
