UPDATE Maritime events 2021

Despite an uncertain situation, the calendar of maritime events for the preservation of maritime heritage is taking shape.
– The Week of the “Gulf of Morbihan”, planned for 10 to 16 May, is being prepared and registrations are open. Ostend at Anchor will be present !
– “Escale à Calais” will take place from 21 to 24 May. Here Ostend at Anchor will be represented by the two-mast sloop Nele.
– Port Festivities Brussels on 23 May will be organised with the cooperation of Ostend at Anchor/Ocean Management.
– Ostend at Anchor takes place one week later, from 27 to 30 May. The festival is almost fully booked.
– Ostend at Anchor will also be present at the 10th edition of fête la mer de la Côte d’Opale, which is planned from 8 to 11 July with the two-masted sloop Nele.
– The postponed “Tall ships race 2020” Magellan – Elcano 500 2021 will not start in Dunkirk. For economic and financial reasons due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the authorities of Dunkirk have cancelled all planned events, including the start of the Tall Ships Race, which was locally known as the “Voiles de Légende Dunkerque” .
The race will nevertheless be maintained with the new starting port being Falmouth in Cornwall (UK) on 19 August. The postponed race 2020 will be preceded by the Tall Ships race 2021 which will start in Klaipeda (Lithuania) on 27 June 2021 and remain in the Baltic Sea.
– In 2022, we welcome the Cathedrals of the Sea in Antwerp in collaboration with Ostend at Anchor/Ocean Management.  !
