Fenix

The Fenix was built in 1973 by Frans Maes in Breskens. It is a classic yacht with a polyester hull and a wooden deck.

The current owner bought the Fenix in 1995 and renewed the deck in 2000. It now has a base of fiberglass and epoxy.

Owner’s tip: When sailing on the Schelde, make sure your charts are up to date if you plan to go outside the buoys or through side channels. I once managed to get the boat stuck right on top of the sandbank at Schaar van Valkenisse and only got off it 10 hours later. The children, however, thought it was a wonderful beach.
