North Star

The 'North Star' was launched in 1974 and sold to a Dutch owner under the name 'Estria'. In 1994, the vessel returned to England, where it received its current name.

In 2002, the North Star underwent its first major refit, during which a 50 hp Nanni engine and new electrical systems were installed. The current owner purchased the vessel in 2013 and had it completely stripped and professionally repainted in 2015/2016. The rigging and sails were renewed by Jeckells, and the navigation electronics were upgraded to modern Raymarine equipment.

From her home port at Titchmarsh Marina in Essex (UK), the North Star has made numerous voyages to the Netherlands, Belgium, and France. In 2024, she took part in the 80th anniversary of the D‑Day landings, with among her crew the son of a D‑Day veteran.

Like all Fishers, the 'North Star' is an exceptionally sturdy and seaworthy vessel — often with more courage than her crew.
